Commercial photography is quite often very different to shooting events or portraits. The environment is generally more controlled and and the shots more thought out. Capturing spontaneity is fun, but it’s nice to plan shots in a more creative and thought out way sometimes too. This extra attention to detail means shoots can be technically more challenging for the commercial product / brand photographer. This is part of the reason I still love to shoot commercial work – enjoying the extra attention to detail in the planning and execution of the job.
